There are plenty of insurance policies out there to protect you when you need it most. There is homeowners insurance, along with other home related insurances (flood, sink hole, mold, renters, etc). There is also auto insurance to make sure you are covered on the road. There's life insurance, boat insurance, personal articles, and many others. I get it...you probably have heard of these types of policies, or even have some yourself. But there are many other policies that people take out each year that are unique and rather interesting.
Let's start in the world of glitz and glamor--CELEBRITIES:
Let's start in the world of glitz and glamor--CELEBRITIES:
Dolly
Parton: Known for her two biggest assets, insured her breasts for $600,000.
That’s a whopping $300,00 per breast! That's a lot of working from 9 to 5!
Troy Polamalu: Famous for being a stellar safety
for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but is often recognized for his hair. After being
in some recent shampoo commercials, he had his hair insured for $1 Million. Oh,
the pressure his barber must feel!
Keith Richards: This band member of the Rolling
Stones is well known for his bad boy rocker attitude. This is why had his middle
finger insured for $1.6 Million. Keith thought that he ran the risk of losing it, seeing that he showed it to many people when he was mad.

Rod Stewart and Bruce Springsteen: Both of these singing legends had their voices insured for $6 Million. We sure hope that these guys both never have to file a claim and keep on singing!
Jennifer Lopez: She had her back side insured for $27 Million. And who says her "love don't cost a thing"?
Mariah Carey: At one point in her career, Mariah insured her legs for $1 Billion. Yes, that's billion with a "B"!
Over the years, other "odd" policies have been for vampire bites, werewolf attacks, and alien abduction. Over 40,000 policies have been sold to insure against alien abduction. If you claim to have been abducted, can pass a lie detector test, and have video or a third-party witness, then you'll be compensated at the tune of $1.5 Million.
Also, companies sponsoring golf tournaments actually take out "hole-in-one" insurance (also known as, price indemnification insurance) just in case that hole-in-one is actually made and they have to give out cash, a car, or whatever else the prize may be.
There is even insurance coverage against a marketing campaign going too well. Yes, big companies want to promote their products by getting customers to use coupons in hopes it will get them to try the product and eventually repurchase. But if there are too many coupons being used, the discount redeemed could add up to be more than their budget. If they had "over-redemption" coverage, then they would be safe!
Although these are interesting, and slightly humorous, having insurance is very important! If there is something that you need insured, call up your agent and just ask.
